Virat Kohli now the first cricketer to hit 100 million followers on Instagram

Indian captain Virat Kohli on Monday became the first cricketer to hit 100 million followers on Instagram.

Kohli has joined Portuguese star footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, Brazilian star Neymar, Argentine magician Lionel Messi, Hollywood actor and WWE player Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson, American singer-songwriter Beyonce and Ariana Grande in the 100 million club.

Virat Kohli is also the fourth most followed sportsperson on Instagram. Here Ronaldo is on the first place with 265 million followers, while Lionel Messi and Neymar rank second and third in the list with 186 million, 147 million followers respectively. The Indian batting legend had earlier become the first Asian to reach 75 million followers on Instagram.

Talking about cricket, Virat Kohli has more than three times the followers of second-placed former Indian captain MS Dhoni (30.4 million).

Coming to Twitter, Kohli also has huge fan base on other social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook. As of now he has 40.8 million followers on Twitter, while has garnered 36 million likes on Facebook.

Recently, he had outshine Bollywood stars Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh to retain the first spot in India's most-valuable celeb list.
