Watch: Nicholas Pooran’s gravity-defying save; Twitter calls it the best save ever

Sakal Times Sports Desk

Though Rajasthan Royals clinched their second victory in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) courtesy to knocks of Sanju Samson and Rahul Tevatia but the man who won the hearts on Super Sunday was Kings XI Punjab's Nicholas Pooran. The Caribbean pulled off an outstanding save at the mid-wicket boundary against Rajasthan Royals.

KXIP bowler Murugan Ashwin was delivering his first over and after scoring only two runs off his first two balls. In a bid to hit the ball over the boundary, Samson rocked back on a short delivery and played a pull shot. The ball was seemed to sail for a six. However, Pooran, fielding at deep mid-wicket had other ideas. He saw the ball coming towards and jumped full length to attempt at a stellar catch. Amazingly, he got the hold of the ball as well but his whole body was over the boundary line.

Soon after the video of the save was viral, Twitterati was in awe of Pooran over his fielding. Even ‘God of Cricket’ heaped praise on the Caribbean.
