Smartphone giant OnePlus recently unveiled the latest addition to the OnePlus 9 Series, the OnePlus 9R 5G. The OnePlus 9R, which is an India-only variant, aims to cater to the growing demands of gaming enthusiasts in the country.
Last month, the brand introduced its OnePlus 9 series that included two new smartphones under its flagship banner: The OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro.
The OnePlus 9R 5G reiterates the brand's goal to make the premium OnePlus smartphone experience accessible to more users at more comprehensive price points. Yet, apart from OnePlus, the only other smartphone dedicated to gaming is the ASUS Rog series.
Speaking about the device, Pete Lau, Founder & Chief Product Officer at OnePlus, said, "We are excited to launch the OnePlus 9R 5G in India." He further added, "The smartphone makes a seamless integration of top-of-the-line hardware and software more accessible to a wider audience of gaming enthusiasts."
Overview: The OnePlus 9R 5G comes equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 mobile platform. This addition offers processing speeds that are 12.6 per cent faster than its predecessor's — thereby modifying the device into a gaming substation. The OnePlus 9R also is 5G-ready.
The device comes reinforced by dual-mode NSA + SA 5G and Wi-Fi 6 support for reliable data speeds and enhanced flexibility.
The company has also included a UFS 3.1 flash storage, which delivers 3x faster performance than UFS 3.0 and 10x faster than a standard microSD card. The feature empowers users to multitask whilst using the device.
Gaming: The OnePlus 9R is a phone for both casual, as well as hardcore gamers. The 9R 5G's 240 Hz touch-sampling rate allows users to use up to five fingers simultaneously for faster gaming and more fluid performance.
Furthermore, it features an X-axis linear motor used to tune in to produce dynamic oscillation. It helps in simulating different styles of in-game vibrations to provide an immersive gaming experience.
It sports dual stereo speakers that deliver an intense, life-like 3D soundscape and has Dolby Atmos audio to elevate situational awareness with augmented directional audio cues.
The OnePlus 9R 5G has introduced a state-of-the-art multi-layer cooling system for gaming purposes. The system uses a graphite and copper-lined vapour chamber, keeping the device cool and guaranteeing stable performance, whether plugged in while gaming or pushing the most demanding mobile titles on the road.
Display: The OnePlus 9R 5G sports a 6.55-inch Fluid AMOLED Display for fluid scrolling sans the lag. It has a 120 Hz panel along with a flat display for a panoramic visual experience. This time around, OnePlus has included colour accuracy — and the device's 5G's FHD+ display lights up with up to 1,100 nits and 8,192 levels of automatic brightness. It also emits less blue light for users who wish to spend long hours on multimedia content.
Oxygen OS 11 & Warp Charge: The OnePlus 9R comes equipped with OxygenOS 11, allowing users to make the most of their personalised smartphone experience. With Turbo Boost 3.0, the OnePlus 9R 5G enables you to have 25 per cent more apps opened in the background than before.
The company has credited this to two technologies: RAM compression, which makes data on the RAM smaller, and Virtual RAM, which turns phone storage into RAM so your phone can have more physical RAM in your device.
Apart from this, OnePlus' comes with Warp Charge 65 technology, which gives its users a day's charge in 15 minutes, and it reportedly fully charges from 1-100 per cent in 39 minutes. The large 4,500 mAh battery utilises an augmented dual-cell design to cut down on the charging speed.
Price & Availability: The OnePlus 9R 5G will be available in Carbon Black and Lake Blue at INR 39,999 (8 + 128GB) and INR 43,999 (12+ 256GB).
It will be available for purchase on 14th April for Amazon Prime members on Amazon.in and OnePlus Red Cable Club members on OnePlus.in and the OnePlus Store app.
Open sales begin on 15th April across Amazon.in, OnePlus.in, the OnePlus Store app, OnePlus exclusive offline stores, and partner outlets. Users can find out more about the availability on the phone's official website as well: OnePlus.in/9R.
