Magnetic Maharashtra: Hyundai to Set Up New Manufacturing Plant in Pune
Pune: Hyundai, one of the world’s leading automotive manufacturers, is all set to establish its next major manufacturing plant in Pune, Maharashtra.
The announcement was made by Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, who expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for facilitating this significant development.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Fadnavis remarked, "This is fantastic news for Maharashtra. The Hyundai Pune plant will boost the state’s development, marking a significant milestone in our industrial progress."
He further emphasized the importance of this new facility in driving Maharashtra’s economy towards the ambitious target of a $1 trillion economy.
"With the growing importance of the mobility sector in India, this plant will play a crucial role in accelerating both the industry and the state’s growth," Fadnavis added.
The announcement follows a meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Hyundai Group's Executive Chairman, Euisun Chung. Chung expressed Hyundai’s readiness to collaborate with India, citing the country’s new vision and favorable business climate.
During the meeting, Chung extended an invitation to the Prime Minister for the inauguration of the Hyundai plant in Pune and assured that Hyundai would work closely with the Maharashtra government to ensure the smooth setup of the plant.
This upcoming Hyundai facility is expected to create a multitude of job opportunities in Pune, further bolstering the region’s industrial landscape. With the support of both the central and state governments, the Hyundai plant will be a critical addition to Maharashtra's growing industrial base.
