Marathi TV actress Akshaya Naik, popularly known for her role as Latika in the hit show Sundara Manamadhe Bharli on Colors Marathi, has recently made headlines for taking a bold stand against a persistent body-shaming troll.

The actress, who had been subjected to repeated trolling about her weight on social media, decided to confront the issue head-on, sharing her frustration and tagging the Mumbai Police in a viral post.

For months, a troll had been targeting Akshaya by leaving derogatory comments on her posts, not only about her physical appearance but even involving her family members in the insults.

This proved to be the tipping point for Akshaya, who publicly called out the individual for their inappropriate behavior. In a detailed post, she revealed screenshots of the offensive comments and exposed the account behind the trolling.

Expressing her frustration, Akshaya wrote, “I have been lucky enough to not face a lot of body-shaming or trolling on social media. Yes, it happens from time to time, but I’ve mostly ignored it.

However, this time the person has gone too far by involving my family in their insults, and that is something I cannot overlook.”

She continued, pointing out the lengths to which the troll had gone: “This person is so idle that they’ve dug up posts from 2019 just to leave hateful comments.

Their account has no followers or posts, making it seem like a hate account created just for me.” The actress urged her fans to report the account, @vikashsagwan208, and also shared screenshots of the abusive messages.

Akshaya’s post quickly gained traction, with fans and followers rallying behind her, praising her for taking a stand against online abuse. The actress’s move to involve Mumbai Police further highlighted the growing issue of cyberbullying and body-shaming faced by public figures on social media platforms.

On the work front, Akshaya Naik has been busy with a variety of projects. After winning hearts with her performance in Sundara Manamadhe Bharli, she went on to star in the play Chook Bhool Dyavi Ghavi, alongside Jai Jai Swami Samarth actor Akshay Mudawadkar.

She also appeared in the chart-topping music video Nach Go Baya, which became an instant hit with audiences.
