Bollywood actor and Rishi Kapoor and Randhir Kapoor's brother Rajiv Kapoor passed away on Tuesday.
Renowned film critic, Komal Nahta sharing the sad news on Twitter said, “Very sad news. Rajiv (Chimpu) Kapoor passes away following heart attack.”
Fondly called as Chimpu by family and close friends, he made his Bollywood debut in Ek Jaan Hain Hum back in 1983. The 58-year-old actor breathed his last on Tuesday.
Rajiv’s sister-in-law Neetu Kapoor also on Instagram confirmed the news. Sharing a photo of the actor, Neetu wrote, “RIP".
He was seen as the leading actor in Raj Kapoor's directorial project Ram Teri Ganga Maili (1985). He also played roles in multiple movies naming Lover Boy, Zabardast, Hum To Chale Pardes and more.
Apart from acting, he also worked as a film producer for Henna released in 1991. The late actor also made his directorial debut with Prem Granth and also directed Aa Ab Laut Chalen.
Soon after his demise, many Bollywood celebs paid tributes to the late actor.
