The picture of a priestess performing rituals from Dia and her prince charming, Vaibhav Rekhi, got wide appreciation from her fans and media. The actress delivered an important message against patriarchy by getting an elderly female priest to conduct her wedding rituals.

In a bid to create awareness on gender equality, on Wednesday, the actress tweeted expressing gratitude to priestess Sheela Atta with the hashtags #RiseUp and #GenerationEquality.
Dia tweeted along with a photograph of the priest conducting wedding rituals, and said, "Thank you Sheela Atta for conducting our wedding ceremony. So proud that together we can #RiseUp #GenerationEquality(sic)".
While Dia posted a thank you note way after her fans noticed the female priest, netizens have applauded and regarded her to be, "living feminism in true sense."
