A video of supposed involvement of Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn in a brawl at Delhi went viral recently. The actor’s team, however, clarified in a statement recently that the actor has not travelled to Delhi in over a year.
The statement said, “Post the promotion of Tanhaji-The Unsung Warrior in January 2020, Actor-filmmaker Ajay Devgn has not visited Delhi. So media reports of a brawl involving the superstar outside a Delhi pub are absolutely baseless and untrue.”
It further mentioned, “We request news agencies and media to please note that Mr Devgn has been in Mumbai the entire time shooting for Maidaan, May Day and Gangubai Kathiawadi and he hasn’t set foot in the Capital in 14 months. Request all media to please cross-check before putting out anything,” as reported by India Today.
The viral video of the incident, which has been trending on social media, has several men were fighting with each other. The tweet mentioned here translates to, “After BJP MLA, actor Ajay Devgn thrashed. What’s happening? Has the BJP’s washing machine broken that the public is thrashing them?”
While wishing his fans a Happy Holi, the Tanhaji actor took to Twitter and cleared the air. In his tweet, he wrote, “Some ‘doppelgänger’ of mine seems to have got into trouble. I’ve been getting concerned calls. Just clarifying, I’ve not traveled anywhere. All reports regarding me being in any brawl are baseless. Happy Holi”
The actor was last seen in the period drama Tanahji: The Unsung Warrior. On the work front, the superstar had also produced the 2020 dramas Chhalaang starring actors Nushrat Bharucha and Rajkummar Rao, and Tribhanga starring actors Kajol and Mithila Palkar, among others. According to reports, currently, he is working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali on Gangubai Kathiawadi. Among other projects that are in the pipeline are – Maidaan and another period-action-drama film, RRR. RRR will mark the actor’s Tollywood debut. The film features Ram Charan, Jr NTR, and Alia Bhatt among others in significant roles.
On April 2, 2021, the actor will also be releasing the motion poster of his character in the RRR movie. A days back, his co-star Alia revealed her poster and character of Sita in the film.
