Priyanka Chopra Jonas, the global icon who has carved out a niche for herself in both Bollywood and Hollywood, recently opened up about her love for Maharashtra during promotions for her upcoming film Paani.
Though she doesn’t have a Bollywood release at the moment, her production company, Purple Pebble Pictures, is bringing Paani to audiences on October 18.
In an interview with Rajshri Marathi, Priyanka participated in a fun rapid-fire round, where she shared her favorite things about Maharashtrian culture. Fans were thrilled to see her talk passionately about her favorite Maharashtrian food, attire, and places.
When asked about traditional clothing, Priyanka revealed her fondness for the Nauvari saree (the traditional nine-yard saree), which she feels suits her best.
As for her favorite places in Maharashtra, she mentioned Pune and Lonavala, highlighting that she has traveled extensively across the state. She also shared her love for Thecha, a spicy Maharashtrian chutney, which she always enjoys when in Mumbai.
As for Paani, the much-awaited film is directed by Adinath Kothare and stars Adinath himself, along with Rucha Vaidya, Kishore Kadam, and Subodh Bhave.
The film has already garnered critical acclaim by winning the National Award for Best Environmental Film. Co-produced by Purple Pebble Pictures, Kothare Vision, and Rajshri Entertainment, Paani is a film that focuses on the importance of water conservation and the environmental challenges faced by communities.
With its environmental theme and strong cast, Paani is set to make a meaningful impact when it releases this month, and fans are eagerly awaiting its debut after a long wait.
