Marathi cinema’s beloved actress, Saie Tamhankar, has captivated audiences with her talent and beauty. Best known for her role in the hit film Duniyadari, Saie’s success has transcended Marathi cinema as she forges a promising path in Bollywood.
Despite her soaring career, Saie’s journey hasn’t always been smooth, as she recently revealed in an interview with Sakal Premiere, where she discussed her struggles with anxiety during the COVID-19 lockdown.
While many young people today, whether in the corporate or creative sectors, are facing mental health challenges, Saie admitted that she too wasn’t immune.
When asked if she had ever dealt with depression, Saie clarified that although she hadn’t experienced depression, she had struggled with anxiety.
“Anxiety is equally daunting. Your heart races, you find it hard to breathe, and speaking becomes difficult. Your emotions are overwhelming in those moments,” Saie explained.
She also shared that her anxiety peaked during the pandemic, saying, "I had an anxiety attack after COVID, possibly because I had been alone for seven months.
The pandemic has affected everyone in different ways, but mental health issues like depression are often hidden. People battling these problems are waging internal wars that are invisible to the outside world."
Saie emphasized the importance of not trivializing mental health struggles, encouraging a more compassionate approach to those facing such challenges.
On the professional front, Saie is gearing up for her upcoming project Manavat Murders, where fans can expect another stellar performance from the versatile actress.
