Shriya Pilgaonkar, widely recognized for her stellar performances in popular web series such as 'Mirzapur,' 'Guilty Minds,' 'The Broken News,' and 'Taaza Khabar,' has firmly established herself in the world of OTT content.
However, the talented actress is now setting her sights on the silver screen. In a recent interview, Shriya shared her eagerness to explore Bollywood and work on larger-than-life historical films.
According to Shriya, while web series have given her substantial recognition on OTT platforms, she now wants to venture into Bollywood’s mainstream cinema, specifically in larger commercial projects.
She revealed, “I’ve done many realistic roles so far, but now I want to dive into Bollywood masala films, which is a dream for every actor.”
The actress, who has been a favorite in web series roles, also expressed her dream of working with renowned filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, known for his grand, epic historical dramas.
"I would love to do a grand historical film, with all the elements of scale and grandeur. Working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali would be a dream come true for me,” Shriya added.
Currently, Shriya is seen in the second season of the web series ‘Taaza Khabar,’ where she reprises her role as 'Madhu,' a sex worker with a strong sense of self-respect and courage.
Speaking about her role, Shriya noted how this series allowed her to showcase her comedic abilities, adding a new dimension to her repertoire.
Beyond her on-screen success, Shriya also discussed her journey as an artist. She shared her passion for the performing arts, explaining how learning Kathak helped her connect deeply with her craft. Despite her confidence in front of the camera and on stage, the classical dance form allowed her to explore new aspects of her talent.
Reflecting on her career and the challenges of the entertainment industry, Shriya stated, “Surviving in the film industry isn’t easy. You have to carve your own path. In the end, the most important thing is to focus on your work and find a unique direction for yourself.”
