Pune: The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has extended the deadline for admission to vacant seats in various undergraduate and postgraduate professional courses, giving students another opportunity to secure seats in engineering, technology, architecture, and management programs.

The deadline for this extended admission process, referred to as the ‘Non-CAP’ (Centralized Admission Process), is October 23, 2024.

This extension comes as a relief to many students and parents who were still seeking admission to various courses. The CET Cell of the Maharashtra state government issued a circular to announce this decision.

With the ‘Non-CAP’ process in place, students can apply for seats that remain vacant after the conclusion of the central admission rounds.

However, concerns have been raised about potential misuse of the institution-level admissions. Educational organizations and student unions have urged students and parents to stay alert and cautious during this final round of admissions, emphasizing the importance of transparency in the process.

For the academic year 2024-25, courses under the Department of Technical Education, including government, government-aided, university-managed, and private unaided institutions, are filling seats through CAP.

After the CAP process, the remaining seats, including those from institutional quotas, are available through the ‘Non-CAP’ admission route.

Students interested in applying for these vacant seats must complete registration, document verification, and confirmation of their applications through either the e-scrutiny method or direct document verification by the respective institutions.

Once the application is confirmed, students will need to submit a separate application directly to the institutions for admission consideration. Each institution will prepare its own merit list based on the applications received.

Non-CAP Admission Deadlines:

  • ME/M.Tech, MBA/MMS: October 23

  • M.Arch: October 21

  • BE/B.Tech, Direct Second Year Engineering: October 23

  • B.Arch: October 21
