Pune: Air Marshal Vijay Kumar Garg, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Maintenance Command, IAF, and Mrs. Ritu Garg, President of the Air Force Families Welfare Association (Regional), conducted an official visit to the Base Repair Depot in Pune from July 4 to July 6, 2024.

They were warmly welcomed by Air Commodore AP Saraph, Air Officer Commanding, and Mrs. Pranoti Saraph, President of the Air Force Families Welfare Association (Local).

During the visit, Air Marshal Garg was given a comprehensive briefing on the Depot's pivotal role in maintaining and supporting various legacy and modern ground support and avionics systems. The briefing covered numerous ongoing repair, overhaul, and indigenization projects at the Depot.

The Air Marshal commended the efforts and highlighted the importance of strategic measures to enhance and refine the Depot's processes. He lauded the Depot personnel for their outstanding contributions to self-reliance and the safeguarding of Indian airspace.

Mrs. Ritu Garg visited the Therapy Centre for specially-abled children at the Station Medicare Centre. In her interactions with the Sanginis, she encouraged them to utilize the various skill development programs offered by AFFWA.

The visit underscored the critical work done by the Base Repair Depot and the continuous efforts towards achieving greater self-reliance in defense capabilities.
