Ajit Pawar: Are you going to spin the magic wand for four-fold growth plans?
"The opposition was saying that we will not be able to pay people through schemes. Now that the same opposition is bringing to the people plans for triple-four-fold growth, how is this possible?
Are you going to spin the magic wand? Through this, the opposition is cheating the citizens," NCP president and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said on Thursday, taking a dig at the Maha Vikas Aghadi's manifesto.
Pawar spoke to the media in the run-up to the elections. On the Maha Vikas Aghadi manifesto, Pawar said, "In the opposition manifesto, we have said that we will give Rs 4,000 for the unemployed, Rs 3,000 for women, loan waiver. If all this is taken into account, the cost goes up to Rs 3 lakh crore.
The state's budget this year was Rs 6.5 lakh crore, which will increase by 10 per cent to Rs 8.5 lakh crore next year.
After spending salaries, pensions, interest on loans, only half of the money is left, then how much will they give to the schemes and how much to development? That's the question. The opposition is trying to deceive people," he said.
Pawar also took a dig at Sadabhau Khot's criticism of NCP chief Sharad Pawar. "Everyone should be consistent in their speech, even the readers should stop somewhere," he said. Citizens will say what these politicians are talking about when the state has so many important questions.
I didn't know immediately who Modi, the wandering soul, said, so I would ask them then. But Khot took Pawar's name directly, which is not correct. Don't say this not only about Pawar but also about others," he said.
To a question on the mahayuti candidate not keen on holding rallies of Amit Shah, Pawar said, "There are few days left for the elections.
There is a spending limit for elections. Rs 15 lakh is spent on meetings of star campaigners of the party. Having leaders' meetings helps create an atmosphere. But you also have to look at the cost," he said.
Pawar interacts with Ambedkar
Pawar on Thursday visited Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) national president Prakash Ambedkar's residence in Bhosalenagar to enquire about his health. He enquired about Ambedkar's health.
The two then spent about an hour and a half discussing the current political developments and manifestos of political parties in the backdrop of the elections. I went to Ambedkar and enquired about his health.
On the advice of doctors, they will be active again from Saturday (March 9). He will start campaigning from Solapur district. There were talks about party manifestos and expenditure on schemes," he said.
Pawar said,
- Not just Nawab Malik, he will campaign for all mahayuti candidates
- Focus on holding as many rallies as possible in the state
- Our priority is for the coalition government to win.
- Our plans will run for the next five years.
- Use of party symbol only as per court's instructions, now elections are important
