Pune: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar did not hold back his frustration during the inauguration of the GST Bhavan building in Pune today.
Noticing uncleaned cement on the very first step as he ascended the building, Pawar questioned the officials present, demanding to know why the area was left in such a state. "Why is this mess left here? Is this kept for me to clean?" he asked, visibly angered by the oversight.
Pawar, known for his strict approach, continued to reprimand the Public Works Department (PWD) officers while inspecting the building. He pointed out issues with the drainage covers that were not properly placed, questioning why such a basic detail was overlooked.
"Did you not notice this while working on the drainage line?" he asked, clearly displeased with the lack of attention to detail.
This incident is yet another demonstration of Ajit Pawar's well-known intolerance for negligence in government work. His stern criticism of the officials underscores his commitment to ensuring high standards in public projects.
Earlier in the day, Deputy Chief Minister Pawar also inaugurated various development projects in the Wadgaon Sheri assembly constituency, including the inspection of the Women and Child Development Bhavan and the site adjacent to the Juvenile Justice Building in Yerawada.
However, the event has sparked tension within the Mahayuti alliance, as Jagdish Mulik criticized the absence of photos of the Chief Minister and Devendra Fadnavis on the banners displayed at these development works.
