This election was the first after the split in the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), turning the Baramati seat into a battleground between the two factions of the Pawar family.

Baramati witnessed a voter turnout of 71.57%, with 2,72,408 voters casting their ballots out of a total electorate of 3,80,608. This marked a 3.29% increase compared to the 2019 elections.

The election gained significant attention as Ajit Pawar faced strong opposition from within his family for the first time. Many expected a tight race due to Sharad Pawar's active support for Yugendra Pawar.

However, Ajit Pawar’s long-standing influence in the region helped him secure another landslide victory, reaffirming his dominance in Baramati politics.

The victory brought celebrations to Supa, where supporters adorned the statue of Shivaji Maharaj with garlands, burst firecrackers, and threw colored powder in jubilation.

Baramati has been a stronghold for Ajit Pawar, who previously won in 2019 by a record margin of over 1,65,000 votes.

Despite challenges from his nephew and the Sharad Pawar faction, Ajit Pawar emerged victorious, solidifying his position as the political heavyweight of the constituency.
