Pune: The All India Nau Sainik Camp 2024 (AINSC 24) organized by the National Cadet Corps (NCC) has commenced at INS Shivaji, Lonavala, running from August 26 to September 5, 2024.
Over 600 NCC cadets from 17 Directorates across India have arrived at the naval station to participate in the camp.
Throughout the event, cadets will engage in a variety of activities designed to test their physical and mental resilience, including competitions, exercises, and workshops aimed at developing their leadership skills.
Cadets will compete both as teams and individuals, vying for the prestigious Best Directorate Trophy.
Senior officers from the Indian Navy and the NCC will interact with the cadets during the camp, providing guidance and insights. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to explore the marine engineering training facilities at INS Shivaji.
Vice Admiral Gurcharan Singh, AVSM, NM, Commandant of the National Defence Academy, served as the Chief Guest at the opening ceremony held on August 26, 2024.
In his address, he urged the cadets to uphold the ethos of ‘Nation First’ while giving their best effort. He also interacted with cadets from all participating directorates, encouraging them to compete with a spirit of camaraderie.
Recently, 34 officers comprising 21 from the Indian Navy, four from Indian Coast Guard, eight from Sri Lankan and one international officer from Myanmar successfully completed 105 weeks of Marine Engineering Specialization Course (MESC) at INS Shivaji, Lonavala.
