Demand to Name Metro Station After Anna Bhau Sathe
Shubhangi Raje Vairat, President of the Maharashtra State Women and Child Development Forum, has requested the state government to name the RTO Metro Station in Pune Cantonment constituency as "Sahityaratna Lokshahir Anna Bhau Sathe Metro Station."
Vairat has been pursuing this for three years, and MahaMetro has indicated that this decision lies with the state government. Vairat, through MLA Sunil Kamble, has submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, requesting that the naming announcement be made on the eve of Sathe's birth anniversary.
She also demanded the installation of a sculpture depicting Anna Bhau Sathe's work at the metro station. Kamble assured that a decision would be made after discussing with Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
