Anti-Drone Guns to Combat Unauthorized Drones in Rural Pune

Police department has ordered modern machines to bring down these drones, with an immediate allocation of ₹15 lakh for the equipment.

Pune: The district authorities have issued strict orders to take action against unauthorized drones flying at night in rural areas of Pune. The District Collector and Superintendent of Police have been instructed to address this issue.

The police department has requested modern anti-drone guns to bring down these drones. State Cooperation Minister Dilip Walse Patil assured citizens not to worry, as the police will soon use these machines to eliminate the unauthorized drones.

Speaking to reporters at the Bhimashankar Cooperative Sugar Factory in Pargaon, Ambegaon, Minister Walse Patil emphasized the seriousness of the situation.

The event was attended by Bhimashankar Sugar Factory Chairman Balasaheb Bende, former Deputy Chairperson of the District Bank and BJP in-charge of Ambegaon-Shirur Assembly constituency Jayshree Palande, Sub-Divisional Officer Govind Shinde, Tehsildar Sanjay Nagtilak, Group Development Officer Pramila Walunj, MSEDCL Executive Engineer Shantaram Bangar, and Assistant Police Inspector Netaji Gandhare.

For the past month, unidentified drones have been spotted flying at night in the eastern part of Ambegaon taluka, causing widespread rumors and fear among the residents.

Minister Walse Patil stated that discussions have been held with the District Collector and Superintendent of Police to take strict action against drones found flying without permission, day or night.

The police department has ordered modern machines to bring down these drones, with an immediate allocation of ₹15 lakh for the equipment. He assured that the machines would be available soon and urged citizens not to fear, as these measures will effectively address the issue.

Recently, eastern part of Ambegaon taluka in Pune district, has been under a cloud of fear due to mysterious drone sightings at night over the past month. This situation has been exacerbated by a series of thefts, the latest being a significant onion heist early Monday (July 15) morning in Jarkarwadi.

Unidentified thieves broke into farmer Balasaheb Lalji Bhadekar's storage, cutting through the iron mesh and stealing approximately 50 bags of onions, resulting in a financial loss of around ₹90,000.
