Ashadhi Wari: Traffic changes on Dehu-Alandi road during Palkhi procession

Pune: In preparation for the annual Palkhi Procession of Sant Tukaram Maharaj and Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj, significant traffic changes will be implemented on the Dehu-Alandi route from June 25 to June 30. Commuters are advised to use alternate routes as arranged by the police.

The Palkhi Procession of Sant Tukaram Maharaj will begin from Dehu on Friday, June 28, while Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj’s Palkhi will commence from Alandi on Saturday, June 29, heading towards Ashadhi Wari. To accommodate the influx of devotees and ensure smooth traffic flow, specific parking arrangements have been made in Dehu and Alandi.

The initial halt for Sant Tukaram Maharaj’s Palkhi will be at Inamdar Wada in Dehu, moving to Vitthal Temple in Akurdi on June 29 for an overnight stay. The first stop for Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj’s Palkhi will be at Gandhi Wada in Alandi, with both processions proceeding towards Pune on June 30.

Key road closures include the Chimbali to Alandi route, with traffic being diverted through Jai Ganesh Samrajya Chowk, Alankapuram Chowk, and Bhosari Chowk-Magazine Chowk.

Other affected routes include Wadgaon Ghenand to Alandi, Markal to Alandi, Bharatmata Chowk to Alandi, Vishrantwadi to Alandi, and the Mumbai-Pune highway from Dehu Kaman to Dehu Gaon.

The road from Chimbali to Alandi will be closed, and traffic coming from Chimbali Phata Chowk, Chakan towards Alandi will be diverted through Jai Ganesh Samrajya Chowk, Alankapuram Chowk, and Bhosari Chowk-Magazine Chowk.

Vehicles from Wadgaon Ghenand to Alandi will take the Chakan-Wadgaon Ghenand Shel Pimpalgaon route via Koyali Kaman, Koyali-Markalgaon route. Vehicles on the Markal to Alandi route will go via Markal, Dhanore Phata, Charholi Phata, Magazine Chowk, and Alankapuram Chowk.

From Bharatmata Chowk to Alandi, traffic will be diverted via Jai Ganesh Samrajya Chowk, Alankapuram Chowk, Bhosari Chowk-Magazine Chowk, Moshi-Chakan-Shikrapur route.

Vehicles from Vishrantwadi to Alandi will be directed from Pune-Dighi Magazine Chowk to Alandi via Bhosari-Moshi-Chakan-Shel Pimpalgaon route.

All types of vehicles coming towards Alandi will be prohibited beyond Charholi Fata Chowk, Dudulgaon toll booth, Kelgaon Chowk, Bapdev Chowk, Indrayani Hospital, and Vishrantwadi Dhanori Fata/PCS Chowk.

Traffic from Dehu Kaman to Dehu Gaon on the Mumbai-Pune highway will be closed, and vehicles will be rerouted through Bhakti-Shakti Chowk, Triveni Nagar, Talwade Gaonthan, Canbay Chowk, and Khandelwal Chowk to Dehu Gaon.

All types of vehicles on the Mumbai-Pune highway from Central Chowk Dehu Road to Bhakti-Shakti towards Pune will be rerouted via Central Chowk-Mamurdi-Kivale-Bhumkar Chowk-Dange Chowk.
