Pune: Chatuhshrungi Traffic Police have issued a notice to probationary IAS officer Puja Khedkar asking her to handover her private Audi car for document scrutiny and further investigations into the illegal use of red and orange beacon.
Traffic police had to issue this notice on Thursday (July 11) evening, after Puja's mother Manorama threatened to send police and mediapersons to jail, who had been at the gate of Khedkar residence in National Housing Society on Aundh Road.
The notice issued by Shafil Pathan, Senior Police Inspector of Chatuhshrungi Traffic Division, mentions: "We are informing you that according to information received, a private car bearing registration number MH12 AR 7000 is found to have written 'Government of Maharashtra' on the front and rear side along with a orange beacon installed on the roof.
We have taken action against this vehicle under Motor Vehicle Act Section 177 and we have found that traffic violation cases have been registered against this number.
These fines have not been paid. We have received information that you are using this vehicle. We are informing you to present the vehicle at Chatuhshrungi Traffic Division for further document scrutiny and investigations."
Manorama Khedkar, mother of Puja, had warned police officers on Thursday afternoon when they went for inquiring about the Audi vehicle.
Manorama had threatened officers saying, "If you try to enter the gate, I will put all of you in jail." Various media representatives were also present at the scene, and Pooja’s mother aggressively approached them as well. This led to a prolonged argument between the police and Puja’s family over the proceedings.
Puja Khedkar, who passed the UPSC exam and made excessive demands during her training period at the Pune District Collector's office, is currently a hot topic nationwide. Both the Lal Bahadur Shastri Academy and even the Prime Minister's Office have taken note of her behavior.
