Pune: Baramati native and former student of Tuljaram Chaturchand College, Radhika Milind Shah (Wagholikar), has been recognized on the international stage with an honorary fellowship at the prestigious IFSO (International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders) Congress held in Melbourne, Australia.

Radhika Shah was the only Indian selected among ten recipients worldwide, an extraordinary achievement considering the global scale of the event, which featured participants from 73 different countries.

The congress brought together renowned doctors and researchers who presented cutting-edge insights on obesity surgery, post-surgical treatments, and care.

Shah, alongside other eminent experts, presented her research findings on the latest advancements in the field. This is not her first recognition by the international medical community; in 2023, she was honored with the 'Best Paper Award' at the IFSO Congress held in Italy.

Radhika’s research contributions are well-regarded internationally, with her having presented papers at major medical conferences across the world, including in countries such as Malaysia, the USA, the United Kingdom, Belgium, the Philippines, Italy, Turkey, and Australia.

Furthermore, she has trained professionals at the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery’s (ASMBS) annual conference, a premier global institution in the field of metabolic surgery, held in Las Vegas, USA.
