Bharti Vidyapeeth Police Nab Motorcycle Thief, Seize 11 Stolen Bikes

Pune: Bharti Vidyapeeth Police have apprehended a thief involved in stealing motorcycles and attempting to sell them. The accused, Shravan Madhav Shinde, has been found with 11 stolen motorcycles valued at Rs. 6 lakhs. Police are also searching for his accomplice.

The suspect has been identified as Shravan Madhav Shinde (26 years old, resident of Sairam Heights, Ubale Nagar, Wagholi). Due to the increasing number of thefts in the Bharti Vidyapeeth area, senior officers had instructed the investigation team to locate the culprits involved in these thefts.

Police constable Namdev Renuse received a tip-off from an informant that a person was roaming around with a stolen motorcycle. While searching for the accused, the suspect Shravan Shinde was found near the iron bridge adjacent to the underground passage on Pune-Satara Road.

The motorcycle in his possession was confirmed to be stolen. Further investigation revealed that he had stolen 11 motorcycles worth Rs. 6 lakhs.

Shravan Shinde used to steal motorcycles for personal use and then search for buyers. He once sold a stolen motorcycle to someone for Rs. 5,000, promising to provide the documents later.

However, he never delivered the documents nor returned to collect the remaining money. When the police brought Shinde to his residence, the buyer realized that the motorcycle was stolen.

The successful operation was executed under the supervision of Additional Police Commissioner Pravin Patil (IPS), Deputy Commissioner of Police Smartana Patil (IPS), Assistant Police Commissioner Nandini Vagyani (ACP), Senior Police Inspector D.S. Patil, Police Inspector Sharad Zine, Assistant Police Inspector Sameer Kadam, and Police Sub-Inspector Nilesh Mokashi, along with

the diligent efforts of police constables Namdev Renuse, Hanumant Masol, Chetan Gore, Nilesh Jamdade, Satish More, Mahesh Baravkar, Nilesh Dhamdhere, Shailesh Sathe, Mangesh Pawar, Nilesh Khermode, Dhanaji Dhotre, Sachin Sarpale, Abhinay Chaudhary, Mitesh Chormole, and Sagar Borge.
