Bhor: Action Against Campaigning Vehicles with LED TVs Sans EC Permission
Bhor: Two vehicles have been booked for violating the model code of conduct for installing LED TVs on a vehicle without taking permission from Kiran Dagde, a rebel BJP candidate from Bhor assembly constituency.
On Thursday evening, during Kiran Dagde's campaign rally at The Chhatrapati Shivaji Vidyalaya ground in Bhor city, led TVs were installed on two vehicles.
Ashok Thopte had complained to the Returning Officer that the vehicles concerned violated the model code of conduct by advertising without taking permission from the Election Commission, the district collector's office or the returning officer of Bhor.
On Friday,the model code of conduct department of the returning officer issued notices to the concerned drivers to explain within 24 hours.
On Saturday evening, Anil Patil of the Model Code of Conduct Department lodged a complaint at Bhor police station alleging violation of model code of conduct against two drivers and vehicles for not getting proper explanation from the drivers.
Accordingly, the police registered a case against the driver Amol Dashrath Jadhav (resident of Holkarwadi, Taluka Haveli, vehicle number MH12UM 3864) and Krishna Mahadev Kamble (resident of Bangarvasti Kesanand, Taluka Haveli, vehicle number MH12 SF 1756).
Election officials have seized both vehicles. Police sub-inspector Sheela Khot is investigating the matter further.
