Pune: In a bizarre turn of events, a man, still bitter from a fight over alcohol consumption, orchestrated the kidnapping of a security guard with the help of two drivers, demanding a ransom.
The Chatuhshrungi Police successfully intervened, arresting all three involved and safely rescuing the victim.
The incident occurred on the night of September 22 at Kundan Westros, Baner, when Ramkumar Shyamcharan Koiri, a 28-year-old security guard, was abducted by Shiva Tantubai and two accomplices.
The conflict between Ramkumar and Shiva dates back 15 days to a dispute over drinking alcohol. Angered by the earlier altercation, Shiva devised a plan to kidnap Ramkumar, enlisting the help of two WagonR drivers.
At around 11:45 p.m., the three men forcibly dragged Ramkumar into the car, where he was subjected to verbal abuse and physical assault. Shiva and his accomplices demanded a ransom of ₹20,000 for Ramkumar’s release.
However, the situation took a sharp turn when Ramkumar's brother, Kishor Kanchan Koiri, promptly lodged a complaint with the Chatuhshrungi Police.
The police acted swiftly, using technological tracking to locate the kidnappers. They were arrested, and Ramkumar was rescued unharmed. The trio has been taken into custody, and further investigations are being conducted by Assistant Police Inspector Zharekar.
This incident has left the local community in shock, highlighting the dangers of unresolved disputes escalating into criminal activities. The police are continuing their investigation into the matter to ensure justice is served.
