Pune: Amit Gorkhe, a BJP member of the Maharashtra Legislative Council, has strongly condemned Parth Ajit Pawar's recent remarks about the Mahayuti (Grand Alliance).
Gorkhe criticized Pawar for making statements against the alliance and urged him to refrain from such comments. He emphasized the BJP's firm position in the Chinchwad Assembly constituency, asserting that it is a stronghold that the party will never give up.
Parth Pawar had asserted his claim on the Chinchwad Assembly seat, revealing efforts to elect Vithal alias Nana Kate as the candidate from the constituency.
Currently, Ashwini Lakshman Jagatap of the BJP serves as the sitting MLA for Chinchwad, and there are additional aspirants within the Mahayuti, including city president Shankar Jagatap, Shatrughna Kate, and Chandrakant Nakhate.
Parth Pawar has been actively participating in various city events and is involved in organizing the forthcoming Jan Sanman Yatra. On Nana Kate’s birthday, Pawar visited Kate's office, where they cut a cake inscribed with 'Future MLA' in reference to Kate.
This gesture fueled discussion about Kate’s candidacy. Pawar expressed, "We all wish for Nana Kate to become an MLA. I have a strong relationship with him, and we are collectively working towards this goal."
In his rebuttal, Gorkhe stated, "We are part of the Mahayuti, and to maintain the alliance, such statements should be avoided. It is our collective duty to uphold the alliance's principles."
He also highlighted the BJP's significant role in Chinchwad, asserting, "The BJP has substantial work in Chinchwad, and it remains our stronghold. We will not relinquish the Chinchwad Assembly constituency."
