Pune: With the code of conduct for the upcoming Assembly elections now in place, political activity is intensifying as the BJP held a series of meetings with city corporators from all eight constituencies in Pune.
During these meetings, party leaders urged corporators not to remain complacent and to focus their attention on their respective wards. Additionally, the party has deployed traveling workers to inspect booth-level activities in various constituencies and submit detailed reports.
The meeting, held at the city office, was attended by prominent BJP leaders including National General Secretary C.T. Ravi, Western Maharashtra In-Charge Ajay Jamwal, former Organizational Minister Raghunath Kulkarni, and City President Dheeraj Ghate.
The discussions revolved around evaluating the organizational setup at the local level, reviewing the status of Shakti Kendras (centralized party units), and assessing booth-level arrangements.
Over the next 30 days, various responsibilities have been allocated to members across constituencies. Though the Mahayuti is yet to finalize its list of candidates, party leadership encouraged former corporators to start campaigning without waiting for official candidate announcements.
The corporators were advised to approach the election as if it were their own, to communicate with voters, create awareness about government schemes, and engage with beneficiaries in their respective wards.
In an effort to ensure smooth operations at the booth level, traveling party workers have been assigned to visit the booths in each constituency over the next few days.
These workers will assess the effectiveness of the party’s organizational efforts, check whether workers are fulfilling their roles, and report back to senior leaders. The findings will help identify areas requiring improvement and highlight those who are underperforming.
