Board Exams: Practice Reading and Writing Difficult Questions, Advise Education Experts
Pune: The class 10 and 12 exams will begin almost 10 days earlier this year. There are 86 days left for class 12 exams and 96 days for class 10 exams. Therefore, academicians in the field of education have advised students to start revisiting the studies that have been done in school so far and the questions they find difficult and to practice writing.
The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has already announced the dates for class 10 and 12 board exams to be held in February-March 2025.
The class 12 written exams (general and bifocal subjects) will begin on February 11 and the class 10 exams will begin on February 21. Of course, the detailed and final schedule will be announced by the state board soon.
However, as per the schedule announced earlier, there are only 86 days left for the Class 12 exams and 96 days for the Class 10 exams. This will speed up the preparation of lakhs of students appearing for class 10-12 exams.
When schools reopen after the Diwali break, teachers have completed 90 per cent of the class 10-12 syllabus. As soon as December dawns, the courses are completed and students begin to revise.
Ramesh Malunjkar, a science teacher at Smt. Indira Gandhi High School in Ranmala (Belhe), said that since the exams will start early this year, students will have to plan for the revision from now on.
Tips from teachers...
1. Re-reading the textbook in detail:
Lessons in related subjects will be taught in the school. Students should re-read the lessons carefully. If there is any difficulty in reading and understanding the lessons, then the timely guidance of the teacher should be taken.
2. Study schedule:
Many students of classes 10-12 start their studies from the beginning of the year. But if you haven't made this schedule yet, plan now for what topic and how long to study during the day. So that there is no stress in the last stage of exam preparation.
3. Regular exercise along with studies:
Many people avoid playing and exercising while studying. But to reduce the stress of board exams, students need to do regular exercise, favorite sports and meditation, pranayama every day.
4. Review of the study:
It is important to review the curriculum taught by teachers on a regular basis every day. So that it becomes easier to solve the paper if the revision is good by the exam.
5. Practice solving question papers:
After the exams are a few days away, students take the question papers of the last few years to solve. However, now practice solving the question papers of various subjects with time. So that it is possible to solve the paper in time in the actual examination.
6. Seek proper guidance:
Often, students rely on educational materials that are available in the market. However, students are expected to prepare for the exam only after taking proper guidance from their teachers. If there are any doubts while understanding the curriculum, it should be resolved by the teachers.
The syllabus for classes 10-12 is completed by December. But students should really start preparing for board exams after Diwali. Considering the nature of the question paper, practice should be done from now on to solve the question paper on time.
Also, when reviewing the curriculum taught, ask the teacher if there is any problem. Read the textbook properly, understand its merits and read the lesson. It is expected to practice geometry structures and starred theorems in mathematics, especially with writing, said Mahendra Ganpule, Retired Principal.
