Pune: A young woman’s body was found in an auto rickshaw parked outside her mother's house, allegedly placed there by her boyfriend after he strangled her.

The accused, Vinayak Awale, who is currently on the run, was in a live-in relationship with the deceased, Shivani Somnath Supekar, for the past two years.

The incident reportedly took place between midnight and 3 a.m. on Tuesday (September 10) night at Jagtap Nagar in Thergaon. According to the Wakad police, a minor argument between the couple escalated, resulting in the suspect allegedly strangling Shivani in a fit of rage.

The 27-year-old woman’s body was later found in an auto rickshaw that was parked in front of her mother's residence.

Details provided by the Wakad police indicate that Shivani and Vinayak had been living together for nearly two years. On the night of the incident, a trivial dispute between them spiraled out of control, leading to the alleged murder.

Following the act, Vinayak, who works as an auto rickshaw driver, placed Shivani's body in his vehicle and drove to her mother's home, where he left the rickshaw parked outside. He then fled the scene, and his whereabouts are currently unknown.
