Pune: A case of fraud and forcible possession has surfaced in Ambegaon, Pune, involving a landowner and a builder in a partnership construction project.
Dilip Pareshwar Thakur, aged 55, a resident of Mukundnagar, lodged a complaint at Bharti Vidyapeeth Police Station, leading to the filing of a case against landowner Pramod Vishwanath Dodke and his accomplice known as Pappu.
Thakur, who operates Tara Construction, a partnership construction firm, had entered into a project on 82 gunthas of land in Ambegaon. The land is jointly owned by Pramod Dodke and Rajendra Bibave.
As per agreements registered with the sub-registrar, Dodke was supposed to hand over 11 flats to Tara Construction for sale. However, it is alleged that Dodke fraudulently sold these flats to different buyers without the knowledge or consent of the builder.
Thakur specifically held possession of Flat No. 903, which was secured with his own lock. Concerns arose when the building's watchman reported suspicious activity, indicating an attempt to create a counterfeit key for the flat.
To secure his property, Thakur installed a new lock. On September 4, an individual identified as Pappu arrived at the site and demanded the key to the flat from the watchman, who refused.
Pappu then asserted that the flat belonged to his uncle, Pramod Dodke, claiming it had been sold to another party, who were scheduled to conduct a housewarming that day.
When confronted, Pappu aggressively threatened the watchman, stating, "This flat belongs to my uncle Pramod Dodke. It has been sold, and today is the housewarming. Who are you to stop me? Are you the owner? Move aside, or I will kill you."
Following the confrontation, Pappu used a hacksaw blade to cut the new lock and utilized a fake key to gain access, forcibly taking possession of the flat. Further investigations revealed that Pramod Dodke had misled a buyer named Vaibhav Gaikwad, promising him possession of the flat on the same day.
The Bharti Vidyapeeth Police have registered a case of cheating and fraud against Pramod Vishwanath Dodke and Pappu. Senior Police Inspector Dashrath Patil is leading the investigation.
