Pune: The State Common Entrance Test Cell (CET Cell) has organized an additional Common Entrance Test (CET) for admissions to the BBA, BCA, BMS, and BBM undergraduate courses for the academic year 2024-25.
The deadline for candidates to register online for the CET exam on the CET Cell portal has been extended to July 8.
Starting this year, admissions to the BBA, BCA, BMS, and BBM degree courses will be conducted through the CET. The CET Cell previously held the Maha-BBA, BCA, BBM, and BMS CET-2024 on May 29.
However, many students who passed their 12th grade and their parents were unaware of this entrance exam. Consequently, the CET Cell announced that they would hold another CET for admissions to these degree courses. An additional CET was scheduled, with the application period initially set from June 29 to July 3.
Parents and students requested more time to submit applications. Considering the educational interests of the candidates, the CET Cell has extended the registration deadline. Candidates can now apply until Monday, July 8, after which no further extensions will be granted, as clarified by the CET Cell.
Approximately 6,000 institutions across the country have received accreditation for BBA and BCA programs, with Karnataka leading the count followed by Maharashtra.
The curriculum for BBA and BCA programs has been published, and teacher training has been conducted. Students can register for internships on the official website and will also be eligible for scholarships. Discussions are ongoing regarding the provision of educational stipends.
BBA and BCA courses now have the status of professional programs. Consequently, they should receive scholarships similar to other professional courses, which necessitates state government support.
