Chakan Lacks Spaces for Public Toilets
Chakan: Chakan City Council came into existence seven years ago. However, basic facilities and facilities are yet to be built in the city. Even at a busy intersection, there is no toilet.
So what should passengers and citizens do? This question is raised. Chakan City Council does not have the right space to build these basic facilities. So the city council is in a situation of 'can you give someone a seat?'
The gram panchayat at Chakan (Taluka Khed) was abolished and the Nagar Parishad came into existence. For the past seven years, the city has been governed by the City Council.
After the municipal council came into existence, the citizens do not even get basic basic facilities and facilities. The city council is facing many problems such as narrow internal roads in the city, increased encroachments, large number of unauthorised constructions, parks, separate vegetable markets, toilets in the busy main square, lack of owned space for dumping garbage, etc.
Workers' burden on Chakan city
The population of Chakan area has crossed two lakh. There is an industrial estate near Chakan town. Due to this settlement, the number of workers from abroad as well as from the state is in the area.
Though the working class lives in the villages of Medankarwadi, Nanekarwadi, Kharwadi, Kadachiwadi, Birdwadi, Waki, Mahlunge, Kuruli, Rase and Bhose, which are adjacent to Chakan, there is a huge burden on Chakan city.
Roads narrow and encroachments
The city of Chakan has internal roads; But they have narrowed. There is a lot of encroachment on it. There are unauthorised leaf sheds on most of the roads in front of the Marathi school in Chakan and other places.
Unauthorised leaf sheds are seen in large numbers on Manik Chowk, Ambethan Chowk, Nehru Chowk, Chakan-Ambethan, Chakan-Talegaon, Chakan-Shikrapur, Rakshawadi roads. Traffic congestion continues due to increasing traffic and narrow roads. PMRDA is in the name. He is currently an administrator on the City Council.
Water is supplied by the city council, that too at low pressure. In some areas, water is available, in some areas there is no water. Even the water supply tank does not get space. As a result, many societies have to buy water through tankers.
Markets on roads and vehicles in traffic jams
Chakan does not have a separate vegetable market. There is no place to do vegetable markets. So the market is held on the road itself. This leads to frequent traffic snarls on the roads.
Residents say the city council needs to remove the encroachments, but the city council administration is ignoring it. The city council does not have its own space to provide accessible toilets and toilets at busy places in Manik Chowk.
It is important to solve the problems of Chakan city. Removal of encroachments and construction of toilets at various intersections will be done, said, Chandrakant Bhosale, Chief Officer, Chakan Nagar Parishad
