Pune: Maharashtra's Cabinet Minister for School Education Deepak Kesarkar has assured Pune Member of Parliament and Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol that those students who were unable to reach for their Class 12 re-examinations on Thursday (July 25) will be given another chance to appear for the exam in future.
According to Mohol, several students reportedly could not reach the exam centres due to heavy rainfall in several parts of Maharashtra including Pune, Mumbai.
Heavy rains have severely disrupted daily life. Pune, in particular, is experiencing intense rainfall, and a red alert has been issued for today due to the ongoing downpour.
In light of the current situation, MP Murlidhar Mohol, tweeted the Class 12 reexamination related decision on his social media account on X (formerly Twitter).
Mohol, in his tweet, has explained that the decision was made after considering the difficulties students might face in reaching examination centers due to the heavy rains.
"The Maharashtra Higher Secondary Board will conduct re-examinations for Class 12. Considering the overall situation of rain across the state, some students may not be able to reach the examination centers today.
This issue was conveyed to Maharashtra Education Minister Deepak Kesarkar, who has decided to conduct re-examinations for those students who cannot attend today's exam. This decision applies not only to Pune but statewide," Mohol stated.
Mohol also mentioned that a written decision will be announced soon and advised students who cannot reach the examination centers to stay safe. He expressed gratitude to Minister Kesarkar for making this prompt decision.
