Pune: A deeply tragic incident unfolded on Saturday (3rd) in the Khamgaon area of Daund Taluka, where a young man was murdered following the abuse and refusal of a divorce for his sister.

The victim was identified as Suraj Rahul Bhujbal (23). He was killed by Amit Jaywant Bahirat (24) and Sameer Jaywant Bahirat (22). The heart-wrenching cries of Suraj's mother echoed through the area as she mourned the loss of her only son.

According to the information received, Suraj's sister Sanjana had a love marriage with Amit Bahirat a year and a half ago. The couple was living in Mumbai. Amit, who was addicted to alcohol, was tormenting Sanjana.

Frustrated by his harassment, Sanjana returned to her parental home. Despite this, Amit continued to harass her even at her parental home.

Following Sanjana's complaint, a case was registered against Amit Bahirat at the Yavat police station. During a family mediation meeting, Amit demanded 5 lakh rupees to grant Sanjana a divorce.

He also threatened Sanjana’s mother, stating he would not only refuse the divorce but would also harm her son.

On Saturday (3rd), while Suraj was at their clothing shop at Daund, Amit and Sameer Bahirat murdered Suraj Rahul Bhujbal. The mother's cries over the death of her only son were heart-wrenching.

Sub-Divisional Police Officer Annasaheb Gholap and Assistant Police Inspector Pravin Sange visited the crime scene. Both Amit and Sameer Bahirat have been arrested in connection with the case.
