Deccan Gymkhana: Three Electrocuted While Moving Stall Amidst Heavy Rains

Pune: In a tragic accident, three young men died of electrocution in the Pulachi Wadi area of Deccan Gymkhana at midnight. The deceased were working at an egg bhurji stall and were electrocuted while trying to move the stall to a safer location amidst heavy rainfall.

Heavy rains had led to knee-deep water accumulation in the area. According to reports, the incident occurred around 3 AM when the water discharge increased in the riverbed area under Z Bridge near Bhide Bridge.

The three men, Abhishek Ajay Ghanekar (25), Akash Vinayak Mane (21), and Shiva Jidbahadur Parihar (18), were attempting to relocate the stall when they received a fatal electric shock. They were rushed to Sahyadri Hospital but were declared dead by doctors around 5 AM.

MSEB officials have confirmed the incident and are currently on the scene along with police and municipal authorities. The authorities are investigating the circumstances that led to the electrocution and taking necessary measures to prevent such incidents in the future.

In another incident from Kothrud, a young man was brutally attacked and seriously injured when he asked his neighbors to lower the noise during their heated argument late Wednesday (July 24) night.

The victim, Kunal Ubhe, 26, who resides at Mokate Chawl, Sagar Colony in Shastrinagar, was assaulted with a knife at approximately 12:30 AM. Ubhe sustained multiple stab wounds to his neck, back, shoulder, and abdomen. He is currently undergoing medical treatment for his injuries.

Accused Saurabh Wakil Yadav, 20, already enraged by the argument, responded violently. Yadav attacked Ubhe with a knife, inflicting severe injuries. Following the incident, Ubhe’s wife, Rasika, 24, filed a complaint at Kothrud Police Station.
