Diwali Celebrated with Students from North-East

The event was organized by two Ganapati Mandals, Sainath Mandal Trust Budhwar Peth and Samyukta Mitra Mandal Sadashiv Peth.

Pune: Ganpati Mandal activists celebrated 'Diwali' with students from north-east region India who came to Pune from Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura for education.

The event was organized by two Ganapati Mandals, Sainath Mandal Trust Budhwar Peth and Samyukta Mitra Mandal Sadashiv Peth.

These young women from the Northeast have been living in Pune for many years for education.

To protect them, the activists of Ganapati Mandals organized this 'Bhaubeej of Affection' program to assure them that their right brother is always in Pune with them.

The young women greeted the workers with gift cards made with their own hands. The mandal workers presented Diwali snacks and essential grains.

"This event of national integration and affection is important for these students, who are away from home, to enjoy bhai dooj and exchange of culture," Shah said.
