Pune: A case has been registered against eight individuals, including the chairman of the DRDO Officers’ Cooperative Housing Society, for allegedly misusing the society’s name to fraudulently induct non-members and illegally sell society-owned land in Sus.
This case was filed at the Hinjewadi Police Station after the complainant, Chetan Ramesh Davare, reported irregularities and unauthorized land transactions involving society assets.
The accused, identified as Chairman Ranjitkumar Suri, Secretary Debashish Chakraborty, and associates Vidya Anand Bagnera, Naresh Narendra Mase, Shailesh Ramrao Gurnule, Shri Khayali Ram Kulhari, and Nitin Chandrakant Jawalkar, allegedly conspired to create fake membership records, resolutions, and documents on the society’s official letterhead.
They are said to have manipulated society records to generate fraudulent ownership and registration details to facilitate the unauthorized land sale.
In April 2022, the group allegedly secured an "Agreement to Sell" for the Sus land with Nitin Chandrakant Jawalkar for ₹1.26 crore.
According to the police, the accused colluded in preparing counterfeit documents, including a registration certificate, and forged society resolutions, seals, and addresses to deceive buyers. Jawalkar reportedly made the purchase without conducting a mandatory property search report, thus participating in the fraudulent scheme.
Police have indicated that Assistant Police Inspector Mahale is leading the investigation, with further examination of documents and financial transactions underway to establish the full scope of the fraud.
