Pune: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has initiated a state-of-the-art drone-assisted survey to identify new and expanded properties.

Property owners identified during this survey are promptly issued special notices. To address any objections or concerns regarding tax assessments, the PCMC has established seven fully-equipped hearing centers across the city. These centers offer both offline and online services.

Currently, there are 630000 registered properties in Pimpri-Chinchwad. However, the PCMC estimates that around 200,000 new and expanded properties remain unregistered. In response, the PCMC has appointed a consulting firm, Sthapatya Consultants Pvt. Ltd., to conduct a comprehensive survey using advanced drones.

Property owners identified in the survey receive an initial special notice regarding tax assessments. Should they have any objections, they can file a written complaint at the relevant zonal office.

The PCMC has set up seven hearing centers to address these concerns. Assistant Commissioner of the Tax Assessment and Collection Department, Nilesh Deshmukh, stated that hearings will be conducted promptly upon submission of all relevant documents by the property owners. For those unable to attend in person, online hearing facilities are available.

A scan code has also been provided for quick access to hearing dates. The PCMC has already issued the first special notices to 24,000 newly identified property owners. Plans are in place to issue 30,000 notices this week and 75,000 by July 31.
