Dumper Kills Young Techie in Wagholi, Family Refuses to Claim Body

Pune: A tragic road accident took place early Tuesday (September 24) morning when 23-year-old Chaitanya Umesh Shinde lost his life after being struck by a dumper near Wagholi on the Pune-Nagar Highway.

The accident occurred around 6:30 a.m. in front of Reliance Mart, and the dumper fled the scene immediately after the collision. This incident has sparked public outrage, with citizens questioning how many more lives must be lost before the authorities take serious action against reckless driving in the area.

He was commuting to work on his bike when the accident occurred. A dumper, believed to be from Hadapsar, hit him, causing severe injuries as he was run over by the vehicle’s rear wheels.

A passerby who witnessed the accident immediately contacted the police emergency line. Chaitanya was rushed to Sassoon Hospital by ambulance, but he was declared dead upon arrival.

The police notified his parents, who had rushed to the hospital only to be met with the heartbreaking news.

Chaitanya’s family has refused to take possession of his body until the police arrest the dumper driver responsible for the accident. Despite the completion of the post-mortem examination, the family had not collected the body by 2 p.m.

Chaitanya’s sudden death has left his family devastated. His father works in a private company, and he leaves behind a younger brother, aged 15. Chaitanya was an active member of the Vishwadeep Youth Club, and his passing has deeply affected his community.
