Pune: Dudulgaon, a village included in the Charholi area of Pimpri-Chinchwad, is set to see the development of an "Eco Tourism Park" modeled after Durga Tekdi, Nigdi.
The park aims to offer facilities for both tourists and local citizens as part of the region's smart city development. Maharashtra's Forest Minister, Sudhir Mungantiwar, has scheduled a meeting with department officials to address the construction of proposed roads within the forest department's jurisdiction.
BJP MLA Mahesh Landge has spearheaded this initiative to promote the 'Eco Tourism Park' and facilitate the road works in Dudulgaon. During the monsoon session, Landge submitted a memorandum to Forest Minister Mungantiwar, resulting in directives for a dedicated meeting with the relevant authorities.
The proposed Eco Tourism Park spans approximately 66.85 hectares of reserved forest area within the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. The area, designated as urban forest, includes a residential corridor with over 100,000 residences.
The park will feature an entertainment zone, lawn, amphitheater, palm court, light and sound show, food court, theme-based games, children's play area, and a pool, providing a respite from work stress for the citizens.
In addition to the park, the development of proposed roads in Dudulgaon is set to progress. The roads, located within the forest department’s jurisdiction, face challenges that have hindered basic amenities and house registration for local residents.
The 18-meter road development near new societies and the widening of the road to Veerdura Society are among the key projects affected by these challenges.
Furthermore, the 24-meter road from Dudulgaon Phata to Charholi faces technical difficulties in land transfer due to the forest department's jurisdiction.
MLA Landge has called for the forest department to provide land transfer or no-objection certificates to the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation to facilitate the development of these proposed roads, ensuring improved connectivity and infrastructure for the local community.
