Katewadi: A misleading message is being circulated on WhatsApp and social media that if you do not have your name in the voting list, you can vote by filling the form of sample number 17 and showing your voter ID card.

The messages circulated on WhatsApp read, "Citizens who have been excluded from the list even if their names are not in the voter list should go to the polling station and fill form number 17.

Those whose names are not in the voters' list should go to the polling booth and take further action immediately."

However, Form No. 17 is for students who have failed class 10 and 12. In the voter list, there is form number 6 for registration. Therefore, you cannot go to the polling booth and vote through any such form.
