Pune: The Wagholi police station has successfully solved a significant theft case involving 280 laptops from the Arcline Logistics and Warehouse facility, valued at ₹1.09 crore.

The incident occurred shortly after the establishment of the police station, and the authorities managed to crack the case within just three days. The theft was reported on October 15 by Balkrishna Sakharam Raut, the manager of Arcline Logistics and Warehouse.

Investigations revealed that Suresh Mahadev Kumar, a 35-year-old helper at the facility who had been employed there for two months, orchestrated the theft with the help of accomplices. Kumar had resigned from his position on October 11 due to low wages, and the theft took place just three days later.

During the investigation, police officer Ajit Pharande utilized technical analysis and information from informants to identify the suspects. A team was dispatched to Walunj MIDC in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, where three individuals were apprehended.

It was determined that Suresh Kumar committed the theft with the assistance of an accomplice named Tejprakash, who remains at large.

The police connected a chain of technical analysis based on the information obtained from the arrested suspects, leading to the recovery of 244 Lenovo laptops, two pickup vans, and three mobile phones, amounting to ₹1.01 crore from various locations.

The court has granted three days of police custody for the arrested individuals, who are now facing further investigation by Assistant Police Inspector Yogesh Khatke.

This successful operation was carried out under the supervision of Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar and other senior police officials, highlighting the effective teamwork and commitment of the Wagholi police in addressing criminal activities in the area.
