Pune: Pimpri police have booked a lawyer and his accomplice on charges of misusing Aadhaar card of a resident in Bhosari to secure bail for Bangladeshi nationals who were caught for illegal infiltration.

The fraudulent bail attempt was carried out at Pimpri Court on April 30, 2024 between 10:30am and 6pm before the court of a Judicial Magistrate (First Class).

The case was registered against the lawyers on July 19 at Pimpri police station under sections 465, 469, 471, 34 of the Indian Penal Code. The complaint was filed by Rahul Baban Bansode (34), a resident of Vitthalnagar in Bhosari.

The Nigdi police had apprehended five Bangladeshi nationals, and a local resident was required to act as their guarantor. However, the accused, including a lawyer, used Bansode's Aadhaar card without his presence to secure the bail, misleading the court and perpetrating a fraud. The Pimpri police are now delving deeper into the case to uncover more details.
