The arrest came after a complaint was filed by Dr. Aruna Tarde, a medical officer with the Pune Municipal Corporation, at the Warje Police Station. Bagchi has been charged under the Maharashtra Medical Profession Act and for fraud.

Despite lacking a medical degree and a license to practice, Bagchi had been treating patients at his center. Authorities were alerted by the municipal corporation’s health department, leading to a police investigation.

Although a case has been registered, Bagchi is yet to be taken into custody. Police Constable Bhingardive is overseeing the investigation.

This case follows a similar incident in July, where Prakash Ranganath Torne, who had been running the Janseva Clinic in Loni Kalbhor without a medical degree, was arrested.
