Pune: A young man was arrested by airport police for attempting to travel by plane using a fake ticket.

The incident came to light when a security guard at the airport noticed the irregularity and handed the youth over to the police. A case has been filed against a travel agent from Uttar Pradesh who issued the ticket.

Salim Golekhan (age 27, resident of Mohannagar, Chinchwad) has been arrested in connection with this incident. A case has also been registered against travel agent Nasruddin Khan (resident of Uttar Pradesh), who issued the ticket.

Tushar Vishwanath Andhare (age 32, resident of Dhanori) lodged a complaint with the airport police station on behalf of the airport administration.

Salim Golekhan owns a biryani house in Chinchwad. He needed to urgently travel to Lucknow with his father. Salim obtained two tickets from travel agent Nasruddin Khan.

Salim and his father were supposed to fly to Lucknow via an Indigo Airlines flight. After entering the airport, the tickets of Salim and his father were checked.

During verification, it was found that the PNR number on Salim's ticket was fake. Salim was taken into custody for attempting to travel with a manipulated ticket. His father's ticket was verified as genuine, and he was allowed to board the flight.

During interrogation, Salim revealed that the ticket was issued by Nasruddin Khan, a travel agent from Uttar Pradesh. Following this, the police registered a case against Salim and arrested him.

A case has also been filed against agent Nasruddin Khan. Salim has been remanded to two days in police custody by the court, as informed by Senior Police Inspector Ajay Sankeshwari of the Airport police station.
