The complainant, Suraj Vhawale, had defaulted on four installments for his four wheeled vehicle due to health issues. Consequently, the finance company deployed a recovery team to repossess the vehicle.

On the day of the incident, the recovery agents arrived at Vhawlae’s residence and took control of the car, instructing him to visit the finance office to settle the dues.

Before the car was driven away, Vhawale requested that he be allowed to remove the jewelry—valued at approximately 1.5 tolas of gold and silver—stored inside the vehicle. However, the recovery agents refused his request and drove off.

Later, Vhawale and his wife were taken to the finance company’s godown in Wagholi by other team members to retrieve their personal belongings from the car. To their dismay, the jewelry was missing.

Suspecting the two agents who had initially taken possession of the vehicle, Vhawale immediately lodged a complaint with the Loni Kalbhor police station.
