Pune: An interactive session titled 'Finding the Path – Addressing Challenges Towards Becoming a Professional' was recently organized by the Training and Placement Cell at Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Architecture for Women (BNCA) in collaboration with the Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (WICCI).
The event aimed to guide and inspire aspiring female architects in navigating the initial years of their professional careers.
Ar. Sonali Thosar, President of the Maharashtra Council of WICCI, highlighted the challenges faced by new graduates in the architecture field.
She emphasized the importance of self-belief, commitment to work, and the ability to understand and adapt to various situations. "The first five years after graduation are particularly challenging, but with the right mindset, one can achieve great success," Thosar stated.
The session saw the participation of around 250 students and featured discussions on balancing life, career, family, and personal aspirations.
The panel included prominent women architects and counselors such as Ar. Priya Gokhale, Ar. Yamini Deshmukh, Ar. Vaishali Chaudhari, Ar. Anjali Lovekar, and Ar. Prajakta Introutwar. The program was coordinated by Prof. Madhuri Zite and Prof. Yash Joshi.
Dr. Anurag Kashyap, Principal of BNCA, emphasized the institution's commitment to empowering women not just as job seekers but as entrepreneurs. "Our goal is to encourage young women to create jobs and become leaders in their field," Dr. Kashyap remarked.
Ar. Sonali Thosar further addressed the importance of establishing a strong presence in a male-dominated field. She encouraged new graduates and professionals to strive for a balanced work-life dynamic and to cultivate creativity and confidence.
Ar. Anjali Lovekar advised students to continue working despite household responsibilities. "Managing both family and work is possible and necessary for personal and professional growth," she said.
Ar. Yamini Deshmukh added, "Finding interest and happiness in your work will inevitably lead to success."
