Pune Rural police conducted a search at the Baner bungalow of Manorama Khedkar on Friday (July 19), who was arrested for threatening a farmer with a pistol. During the search, the police seized the pistol, three bullets, and a luxury Land Cruiser car.
A case was registered at Paud police station against Manorama Khedkar, her husband Dilip Khedkar, their bodyguard, and seven others based on a complaint by farmer Pandurang Kondiba Pasalkar (65) from Kedgaon Punarvasan, Daund Taluka.
According to Senior Police Inspector Avinash Shilimkar, the local crime branch arrested Manorama Khedkar in Mahad on Thursday night. The court remanded her to police custody until July 20.
On Friday, a team from the rural police crime branch searched Khedkar's bungalow at National Housing Society in Baner.
During the search, in the presence of Manorama Khedkar, the police seized the pistol and three bullets used to threaten the farmer. The footage revealed Khedkar arriving at the scene in a luxury Land Cruiser, which was also seized. The Chatuhshrungi police provided security during the bungalow search.
Firearm License Violation Notice Issued
Pune police had issued a firearm license to Manorama Khedkar. It was revealed that Khedkar violated the terms and conditions of the license.
Consequently, Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar issued a notice to Khedkar, asking why her firearm license should not be revoked. The notice stipulates that Khedkar must provide an explanation within ten days.
Manorama Khedkar, the mother of controversial IAS officer Puja Khedkar, was arrested from a hotel in Raigad for allegedly threatening farmers with a gun.
It was revealed that Manorama and her husband Dilip Khedkar were staying in the hotel under false identities. Before her arrest, the couple stayed at Parvati Nivas Hotel under the names Indubai Dhakne and Dadasaheb Gnyandev Dhakne, as per the hotel register.
