Pune: A forgery case involving fake certificates in the name of the Maharashtra State Examination Council's Deputy Commissioner has come to light, leading to charges against three individuals by the Deccan Police. The investigation aims to uncover the motives behind the creation of these counterfeit documents.

The accused, identified as Ashwini Satish Shinde alias Ashwini Kailas Gavte (33, resident of Sakur, Sangamner, Ahmednagar), Sahadev Nimbhore (resident of Saku, Shrigonda, Ahmednagar), and Nilesh Rathod, have been charged based on a complaint filed by Deputy Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Rathod (48) at the Deccan Police Station.

The issue surfaced when a woman from the Sangamner area submitted a certificate to the Deputy Commissioner's office, which was later found to be fake during verification.

The counterfeit certificate bore a fake stamp and Rathod's forged signature. Upon discovering the forgery, the police summoned the woman for questioning.

During the interrogation, she revealed that the certificate had been provided by the accused Sahadev Nimbhore and Nilesh Rathod. Consequently, charges were filed against the woman, Nimbhore, and Rathod.

The investigation is now focused on determining the purpose behind creating the fake certificates and whether they were intended for use in teacher recruitment. Police Sub-Inspector Mahesh Bhosale is leading the ongoing investigation.
