Pune: In anticipation of the high demand during the upcoming Ganeshotsav, Central Railway has introduced six additional special trains on the Pune-Ratnagiri route.
These trains are part of the 222 Ganpati special trains that the railway department has planned to accommodate the large number of devotees traveling to Konkan for the festival. Booking for these trains commenced on August 7.
Ganeshotsav is one of the most significant festivals celebrated in the Konkan region, leading to a surge in travelers. To manage this increased demand, Central Railway annually schedules special trains during this period.
Given the high demand, with tickets often selling out within hours, the decision was made to add more trains this year.
These special trains will have stops at key stations, including Chinchwad, Talegaon, Lonavala, Kalyan, Panvel, Pen, Roha, Mangaon, Veer, Karanjadi, Khed, Chiplun, Savarda, Aravali Road, and Sangameshwar Road.
The trains are scheduled as follows:
Train No. 01447: Will depart from Pune on September 7 and 14 at 12:25 AM, arriving in Ratnagiri at 11:50 AM the same day.
Train No. 01448: Will depart from Ratnagiri on September 8 and 15 at 5:50 PM, arriving in Pune at 5:00 AM the following day.
Train No. 01445: Will depart from Pune on September 10 at 12:25 AM, arriving in Ratnagiri at 11:50 AM.
Train No. 01446: Will depart from Ratnagiri on September 11 at 5:50 PM, arriving in Pune at 5:00 PM the following day.
With tickets now available, passengers planning to visit Konkan for the Ganesh festival are encouraged to book their tickets at the earliest.
